All Lives Matter

Posted on July 8, 2016 with 1 comment

Time to break the silence…

“All Lives Matter”… including black lives, white lives, blue lives, animal lives, gorilla lives, whale lives, baby lives, unborn baby lives, straight lives, gay lives… yes, ALL lives matter, but what’s missing here is… to God - ALL LIVES MATTER to GOD!

This does not, however, mean all lives are living in a way that is honorable to God or holy before God, but all lives, or souls, matter to The One who created them. This is not racist, sexist or bigoted. This comes from the Creator of the universe whose attributes have been clearly seen since the beginning of time so that man is without excuse to say, “There is no God.” But Scripture (i.e. God’s Word) tells us that man chose to worship the creation, rather than the Creator, thus, given over to vile lusts and passions (Rom 1:20-27).

Further, in 2 Timothy: 3:3, we are told, “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, WITHOUT SELF-CONTROL (emphasis mine), brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.” Sound familiar?

It is Jesus, the Christ, who warns us in 1 John 2:15-17: “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”

When will we stop looking at each other and pitting ourselves against one another and instead, start looking in the mirror and comparing ourselves (our actions, our speech) with a just, holy and undefiled God? Only then, will a change come, but it starts within.
